With all of the incredible amenities and community events available at River Islands, it’s pretty easy to live up to our motto year-round: “Home of the 7-day weekend.” But, when that last school bell rings before summer break, we take it EXTRA seriously!

One of our favorite activities we love to host every summer is an outdoor movie night. In addition to the City of Lathrop’s parkside movie series, we always like to have one special drive-in movie night just for River Islands residents, in our own location, just behind the vehicles behind the Welcome Center.

We’re excited to continue this summer tradition with our residents, as well as celebrate the season in many other ways. The Boathouse welcomes River Islands residents and Lathrop guests to enjoy happy hour and delicious food with a lakeside view, as well as a few games of bocce ball and volleyball.

Outdoor lovers can take advantage of activities like paddleboarding, kayaking, and fishing on our gorgeous lakes. Sports enthusiasts can catch baseball games at Islanders Field year-round (but we especially love it in the summer!), and hours and hours of playtime can be had at our incredible and diverse parks.

And we can’t forget our own weekly farmers market, now in a new location! The market is open from 8:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m. every Saturday, from May 21st until November 26th in the parking lot at River Islands Technology Academy. You can learn more about it HERE!
