We’ve all been watching the construction of the new Lathrop Police Station for over a year…and now it’s time to attend the ribbon-cutting and Grand Opening of the state-of-the-art police administration headquarters! The new HQ is an architectural gem and now, for the first time, you can take a tour!

The newest Lathrop Police Station, located within River Islands, will celebrate its Grand Opening on Saturday, June 25th, and both residents and the public are invited! The event is from 12 to 3 PM, with the formal ceremony concluding at 12:30 PM. After the ribbon-cutting event, attendees are encouraged to explore the facility, see the state-of-the-art equipment, and participate in a meet-and-greet with the new Police Chief and staff.

This police station is a wonderful addition to River Islands. Located west of Bradshaw’s Crossing Bridge, the 13,889 square foot building will be one of the first things visitors and residents will see every time they enter the community.

We are starting a new tradition at River Islands—a love lock bridge! As you may know, we are opening a new parking lot in the community that will connect to The Boathouse Restaurant and Michael Vega Park via a bridge. This convenient new parking lot will allow many more residents and guests to enjoy the delicious food and drink offered at The Boathouse, and to take advantage of the bocce ball courts at Sunset Point Park and the play areas at Michael Vega Park.

Join us in creating a new famous bridge right here in Lathrop! We will have a grand opening celebration on Thursday, June 23rd, from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. There will be a ribbon-cutting event, followed by free
appetizers and hot dogs. We hope to see you there!
