At River Islands, we believe that the season of giving is 365 days long! We’re delighted that so many of our generous residents have participated in our 365 Days of Giving program by donating to the River Islands Food Drive to support Second Harvest Food Bank Of San Joaquin County.
To continue the spirit of giving into the summer months, we’re encouraging our residents to bring non-perishable food items to the Lathrop-Manteca Fire Station 35, located at the end of Somerston Parkway. Donations are accepted every day and can be dropped off in the bins set aside for collections. The fire department will then drop off all of the food to the Second Harvest in Maneca.
Looking for another way you can give back to the community? We’ve partnered with Target.com to make being charitable even easier! Visit Target.com and search for the River Islands registry to find out which items are needed most by Second Harvest. Once you purchase your items for donation, Target will deliver them to Fire Station 35. For more information on how to use the Target.com registry, see the instructions below.
We want to thank our amazing residents for making the 365 Day of Giving program a success! Among Second Harvest’s programs are Food Assistance, Fresh Food 4 Kids, Mobile Fresh and Seniors Brown Bag, and your generous donations have helped these programs that serve the 35,000 individuals in need throughout our area.
